My Gear

In some cases renting is the right way to go, particularly for very expense, seldom used gear.  I try to maintain a core equipment collection though to be ready for the most common situations.

To begin with, I use primarily Canon gear.  While I would love to be sponsored in some fashion, I’m not.  I am quite happy with all my Canon gear so far and have 0 complaints about any of it.  I have nothing against Nikon, but I am invested in Canon so I will remain with Canon for the foreseeable future.  The 5d Mark 2 launched a new age in video on the DSLR platform.  The Mark 3 has taken this capability even further.  The large full frame sensor takes full advantage of the wide lenses, and its sensitivity and clarity are comparable to video camera systems costing vastly more when paired with the MagicLantern software on the camera.
